Have you heard that there is a folk tale about a creature who did not get on Noah's ark, which was supposed to carry all creatures?
Eastern European folk tale says that are unicorns, this is why there are no unicorns now...
What if unicorns have been survived by the ark?
The Earth's ecosystem might have been different from what it is today.
In the year 2020 AD, an unknown virus came aboard the ship called humanity.
Because of it, the Internet and cell phones have spread rapidly and our lifestyles have changed.
Though they were only imaginary products just a few decades ago.
In the future, we might see a mutation of the human race and the birth of a new species.
Things that are not here, but may exist somewhere on earth or in the universe.
Things that do not exist now but will appear in the future.
Fantasy and illusion are neither insignificant nor empty, but might be such kind of things.
Because of their addition, great changes can be brought ......
I have thought "more beyond reality!" and "to the unknown!" then constructed a world or a universe in each painting.
In this piece, I have expressed the collection of things I have discovered and brought back with me on such spiritual journeys, as if they were contained in the real world.
They invite me to the next journey, and I hope they do so to you as well.

Flowers floating and integrating each other like two galaxies. Here, the source of the seeds of the next generation meets.

A bud like a bird's neck has grown on the shore where the waves of time are lapping the shore.
Some grow up, gain body and wings, and fly away beyond time.
Some buds blossom and bear fruit here, end their lives.
◆Right shelf
Dreams of crystals. Now they seem to be dreaming of the city. They appear and disappear, changing their appearance from time to time.
But the sleep of the crystals is so long that some creatures live in the city without realizing that it is a dream.
◆Wall
In the wall there is a world as well. Animals with horns walk, birds fly, and flowers bloom. Sometimes they come out from the wall.

The blue butterflys are the incarnation of the sky. Pieces spillee out from the blue butterfly return to the sky.

The girl has been raised by birds. She understands the language of birds.
She does not sell her brothers, sisters and fellow birds. She understands bird language and negotiates with them to see if they help humans.
When her brothers and sisters began to cross the sky of the world as an adult bird, he decided to cross the ground of the wold.
【Girl's Words】
◆The window of the sky of the bottom right
"I am a traveling bird peddler! Let me call any bird to you through this mysterious window and see!
If you are tired, how about a three days gull? It will carry you and fly for three days and three nights while you sleep. You need a bed on the bird for it!"
◆Green bird (plant bird) of the top right
"If you are going to cross the desert, I recommend a green bird. It can make a shade and be a carpet. If you don't take much luggage, it is more suitable for you than a big green camel."

"Would you like to be pulled by a penguin? He swims in the sea of light. 'The long slanting evening light has a kind of current that is easy to ride, but heading into the setting sun is a bit of a heavy swim', it says. So, which direction would you like to go?"

The mysterious animal on which the girl riding has blue sky in a space surrounded by its large horns with the sun. Each of its four legs is dressed differently, and it seems to be able to swim not only on land but also in water.
It does not look like a flesh-and-blood animal, but rather like a mural, with flat, decorative parts. The body, in particular, is decorated with gold patterns.
It has stars and a universe in the neck, and the trees of the forest in the costume. It gives the impression of a mythical creature that unites the universe and the nature of the earth.

When the sky becomes too narrow, go in the space.
This is a ship that advances through water, sky, and space. This ship did not start out this way. Every time the girl wanted to go out into the wider world, she added new equipment. It may look ugly, but that is the history of this ship.
The strange-looking creatures are the companions she has acquired along her journey. That is the history of her journey.

We Japanese have the proverb, "to wear a cat", it means to act to be loved by many people.
Sometime it works well in Japan society.
However, if you are unsure of your true feelings even for yourself, throw away the cat you wear.
"I have finished my journey as a cat.
I will get out into the light.
It was not in vain. I have got cat ears."
【Concept】

Rabbit on the Moon

【Concept】
There is a legend in Japan that a rabbit is on the moon, making rice cakes. It seems to have been imagined that way because of the pattern of the moon.
The rabbit represents a cute animal popular with children, but inside it is still a cute girl.
【Explanation about the Technic】
To represent the moon and the glow of the moonlight, I used a variety of materials to make this piece sparkle and shine.
The surface of the moon is studded with mica,
gold leaf is scattered around the moon.
I also painted the girl's luminosities with gold color. She will look at you with sparkling eyes.
【Concept】

I painted them for an exhibition in which they were reinterpreted by contemporary artists.
This is a representative character, Momo, the pink bear. Momo is a boy, but I made him a girl inside.
Post Pet were much loved. The mica scattered in the background shines. It is an expression of their sparkle, which was their idol.

Japanese Traditional Painting x Girls
Ukiyo-e (woodblock prints) was mass-produced during the Edo period using woodblock printing techniques and offered art to the general public. It introduced many innovative elements in terms of color, composition, and design to Japan.
And Ukiyo-e had a great influence on art and culture not only in Japan but also in the West. In particular, European impressionist and post-impressionist painters were inspired by Ukiyo-e and incorporated it into their artistic expression.
Ukiyo-e has also influenced modern Japanese manga and anime, and is vaguely familiar to us. We have included a young girl in this Ukiyo-e. Are there any Ukiyo-e you are familiar with?
While keeping the composition and outline of Japanese traditional painting, I pursued an original and fresh expression by adding realistic expressions and metallic colors of modern paints.

Katsushika Hokusai, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa (Kanagawa oki nami ura), from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanjūrokkei)"
This piece is known worldwide as a masterpiece of ukiyo-e, it occupies a very important place in the history of art in the world and in Japan.
A tense moment at sea when a huge wave engulfs ships and people. The composition emphasizes the huge waves and their power, as well as the smallness and vulnerability of the people in the landscape, simultaneously expressing the power of nature and the helplessness of human beings.
Fuji is depicted as a silent presence in the midst of the scene, and its presence stands out despite being surrounded by the raging sea and clouds.
"The Birth of Venus"
【Concept】
The concept of this work is that the entire world is celebrating the birth of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty.
【A girl = Venus = Mt. Fuji】
The girl is superimposed on Princess Konohana-sakuya-hime, the goddess of Mount Fuji, and her hair is styled in the Japanese style. Fuji silhouetted by her flowing hair.
The iris of the girl's eyes is also made of gold, so her eyes sparkle from different angles.
Sandro Botticelli is probably best known for The Birth of Venus. I used François Boucher's "The Birth of Venus" as a reference for my Venus pose. Alexandre Cabanel's "The Birth of Venus" also came to mind, with its common theme of lying directly on the waves.
Despite these influences, I did not make the Venus in this work a carnal pose or figure, but rather a spiritual being with a core.
【Waves】
The breaking wave head that Hokusai painted is said to be the same shape as that captured by a modern camera. I chose it as a flower to celebrate the birth of Venus. The touch of the brush and painting knife will be felt dynamically.
The water droplets are represented by aluminum foil. Unlike silver foil, aluminum foil does not tarnish, so it continues to sparkle and shine.
The shape of the waves follows Hokusai's style, while the translucent blue of the oil is applied over the waves to create a rich blue that can only be seen in the original painting.
【Sky and Clouds】
The sky is dark and the clouds are heavy, as Hokusai's work is a scene from a storm. However, since this is a happy day, the sky is a soft sky blue and the clouds are gold. Depending on the angle, light is reflected. Each time you look at it, you will see a different color.

Shunga is about enjoying the situation of the scene - the violation of taboos, the gap in status, and so on. For example, in this series of 12 paintings called "Utamakura," we can see a combination of an actor and a patroness, a shop boy and a store owner, a bride and a man who is not the groom ......, and so on. A deeper understanding would be possible if we knew the props and locations depicted together.
In this ninth figure, the taboo is depicted as an ugly middle-aged man forcing ...... a maiden he doesn't like.

Benzaiten wears a luxurious Chinese-style costume with plenty of cloth.
